In 1933, Late Mr. P.C. George opened his own dwelling to the destitutes and his sister Leyamma nursed the inmates. This was the humble beginning of Mundakapadam Mandirams.

Mandiram Hospital – Healthcare for All

Mandiram Hospital extends free medical care to the inmates of the Agathi Mandiram, Balika Mandiram, Hospice and to hundreds of poor and needy persons from the nearby villages.

Donate & participate

We depend upon the munificence of individuals, Trusts, Foundations and Corporate Houses for funds. Donations to Mandiram are eligible for Tax Exemption under section 80G of the I.T. Act. Corporate Houses can extend valuable support to Mandirams through CSR Grants.

Facilities

We have a fully functional mortuary that operates 24 X 7 to preserve the body of the deceased in our hospital or brought from elsewhere. We have refrigeration units and embalming facility. This makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the last rites.

Mandatory Documents

Death Certificate Or A certificate that states the cause of death from Panchayat Member / Hospital / Doctor / Church Authority
Identity card of the deceased – Aadhaar Card / Voters ID Card
Identity card of a person who brings the dead body- Aadhaar Card / Voters ID Card

Hospital reserves the right for admission. Applicants need to fill in an application form and follow the rules and regulation as mandated by the hospital.

As per the Registration of Birth & Deaths Act, 1969 every death has to be registered with the concerned State Government.

Items Required

Dress of the deceased
Artifacts to be kept along with the body
2 Meter White Cloth, Cushion, Talcum Powder, Perfume, Diaper, One Disposable Napkin, Cotton Bandage, Razor, Cellotape, Gloves and other materials needed by hospital. (Hospital sells these as a kit)
